Are your medications working for you?
Suntree Diagnostics provides collection of DNA samples for Pharmacogenomic (PGX) testing. If your asking yourself what PGX testing is you are not alone. PGX testing is used to determine how your body will respond to medications based on your individual genetic makeup. To the right is a short overview from the Mayo Clinic on what PGX testing is and the benefits it provides.
How does PGX testing work?
PGX testing is a painless procedure. A collection tech will use a swab that resembles a Q-Tip with a long stem. The technician will swab the inside of your cheek with the swab to collect cells. Once the cells are collected they are sent to one of our partner labs for genetic testing. In about 7 to 1o days your doctor will receive a report with your genetic profile,(click to see a sample report). From the report your doctor will have a better understanding of what medications you can take and which ones are potentially dangerous for you.
